Fix it Phonics
This Letterland range of ESL materials was developed in response to language schools and schools needing a slower pace and more structured approach with accompanying student books and workbooks. Fix-it Phonics is an all-inclusive, step-by-step programme. It has four structured levels that help children to quickly master all the English letter shapes and sounds as well as reading, writing and communication skills. FIP Starter focuses on the first skills a child needs when starting a new language. It introduces environmental, voice and instrumental sounds, body percussion, rhythm and rhyme as well as the initial vocabulary topics that children learn in their native language when starting preschool. FIP Level 1 focuses on Alphabet sounds and shapes (Aa-Zz), first speaking and listening skills, simple words, blending and segmenting. Scope consists includes a-z simple sounds, the long and short vowel (a,e,i,o,u) sounds and simple blends (bl, cl. fl, gl, pl, sl, br, cr, dr, fr, gr, pr, tr, sc, sk, sp, st, sm, sn, sw). FIP Level 2 Introduces digraphs, word building, blending and segmenting. It reviews the learning from Fix It Level 1 and then adds in Consonant digraphs: ng, ch, sh, th, th, wh, ph, Vowel digraphs: a_e, ai, ay, e_e, ee, ea, y as e, i_e, ie, igh, y as i, o_e, oa, ow, u_e, ue, ew, oo (moon), o (son), u (pull), oo, oy, oi, aw, au, ow, ou and the R-controlled vowels: ar, or, er, ir, ur, wr. FIP Level 3 works on advanced spellings and the foundations of full literacy. It reviews the learning from both Level 1 and Level 2 and adds in the oo, oy, ow, aw, au, ow, ou, wh, wh, ph, air, ear, ear digraphs and trigraphs, followed by theSuffixes: er/est, full/ful, ly, less, ness
